About Us

Our History:

 DSC1180 cropCustom Mold & Design was founded in 1965 for the purpose of manufacturing plastic injection molds. High quality product, superior service to the customer and a dedication to the well-being of each employee has always been the goal. Today we continue to operate under that same philosophy and ideology. We employ the very best, highly dedicated engineers and mold manufacturers with combined industry experience in excess of 1000 years! 

In more recent years, we created a specialized division called CMD Express.  We created this factory within a factory team to better serve our customers’ growing needs for quick turn, low cavitation tooling, machined components and assemblies, and to provide advanced mold maintenance services.

Our Facility: We are located in Forest Lake, Minnesota, occupying a state-of-the-art 40,000 square foot facility. We employ the latest technology in CAD/CAM systems and machine tools.

Experience: Custom Mold & Design has a proven track record of manufacturing molds that run tens of millions of cycles. We have designed and manufactured thousands of molds since the company was founded in 1965. The average employee at Custom Mold & Design has over 20 years of industry experience.
